BACKLOGS - CELEBRATIONS (Extended)!!!

Was out of Bangalore when we posted the new challenge at ICR... :( Amidst bad internet connections, somehow managed to let the challenge go live on time.... but could not post regarding the same on my blog....

Hence today's post is all about the challenge & my inspirations for it..... And with the ICRC9 being extended for another fortnight, I feel comfortable posting my much delayed post.... :D

On ICR, ICRC9 went live on the 16th of August.... And the month of August welcomes several celebrations...... And that paved the way for the challenge ICRC9!

ICRC9 is CELEBRATIONS + No Digi/Rubber Stamping Except for Sentiment!!!

And below are my inspirations for the same.... Yes! ARE...... With little time on hand, I had to cook up some creation that portrayed the theme.... Hence made one at ease..... I loved the colors so so much that I had to attempt one, but after sometime I kinda started disliking it... Couldn't figure out why! :O

ICRC9

Challenges it goes to :

Moxie Fab World for Tuesday Trigger.....
Crazy 4 Challenges for Bingo! [2nd column - Embossing, Die Cuts & Ribbon]
Papertakeweekly for Die Cuts.....
All Sorts Challenge for Being Framed.....
ICR for ICRC9....

Prep:

Cream CS for the base & layers, from Fabriano.... And embossed the layer with vintage wallpaper from SU!
Distressed the embossed BG with chalk ink & wallnut stain distress ink.....
Black CS for layer & frame.....
Used the Letterpress Technique with impressabilities on the black CS.....
Later cut the CS with nestability scalloped circle dies... {used 2nd & 4th size together for the frame}
Used the fancy die cut to embellish the scalloped circle frame, and secured it with brads on either side....
Ribbon in black with golden lines form the stash....
Used a chipboard flourish which was a RAK from B.....
Sentiment is from PTI- Round & Round stamp set.....
Finished the project with some paper roses & gemstones......

ICRC9

Since I wasn't happy with the one I made above, I resorted to another one in a jiffy.... I sat up that night to work on this creation amidst all packing that had to be done..... I had to basically clear my craft room mess, with all the stamps used, lying around inked & messy!

Once I reached Ranchi, based on the opinions of my family, I opted for the first one to go live as an inspiration with the challenge.... :O Pheww!!!!

NOTE :

Since it is a Celebration challenge marking a small milestone of crossing 100 members & 1000 photographs at ICR, & the sponsored candy is really big, we thought it better for the challenge ICRC9 to be extended for another fortnight!!!

So pull up your socks for a celebration bash!!! Do join us at ICRC9!!!

That is it for now.... Will be back with some miscellaneous stuffs soon... :D

BACKLOGS - RAKHI CARD!!!

A BIG HELLO to ALL!!!! I had been away & it was away from everything..... Rather my routine.... Now that I am back, I'm happy & excited but seeing the accumulation of the chores on the net, I'm quite petrified.... :O And that in turn has been pushing me towards being unenergetic.... :(

It is always said that a break rejuvenates you & brings u back to life..... But with me it has always been the other way round.... I tend to get lethargic! मैं ऐसी क्यों हूँ????????

Well! In no mood to write more..... Would just come to the point!

Before I left on my trip I made a card for my brother on the occasion of Rakhi! Though a simple one, I was in love with it by the end..... Here it is for you.... I hope you like it too..... :D

Rakhi 2011

Challenges It GOES INTO:

TPE for Photo Inspiration....
All Sorts Challenge for Being Framed....
Cards For Men for Anything Goes.....
DYSU for Boys in our Lives.....

Rakhi 2011

Prep:

Red CS from Fabriano...
Frontal Flap was designed & cut by hand with the help of scallop designed scissor.....
Doodled on the scalloped edge with signo ball white pen....
Adhered the embroidered patch onto the side of the flap to keep it framed.....
Adhered some gemstones on the corner of the flap & a gem stoned embellishment on to the center of the framed border, which again connotes a RAKHI!
Attached the Rakhi on the overlapping flap on the inside, which added oomph to the entire creation......
Replicated the doodled frame border on that inner flap too that creates a notion of a vase.....
Heat embossed the PTI - Round & Round frame in white, with the sentiment from the same stamp set in gold.....

Rakhi 2011

That's it with the Rakhi card... Will be back soon with other clearances..... ;)

UNTIL NEXT, KEEP THE FAITH!!!!

SECRET BUDDY SWAP - 1st Set

Hello Crafters! For me looking forward to this Secret Swap was nothing less than looking forward to some festival...... Was so excited about the entire event... I guess it's the same feeling among all participants of the swap!

But before I sat to make mine, I was so perplexed as in what, how, where.... etc., But once I sat down to make them, the number seemed so less as I had so many ideas on my mind which I wanted to execute.... But I had to stick on to a set of 3! I loved them.....

'Note Cards' & ATCs are real pieces of art, as compared to our regular cards we make..... As these tiny bits challenges us with a very limited space which we ought to be satisfied with.... And to bring out our best within the set boundary, is like WOW!!!! And one can try everything under the sun, to showcase on those cards..... 'So much done, but still left with so much more to do'.... I'm in LOVE with these tiny bits!

Received my first set of note cards from Priya Venkat..... And was like :O

Wow!!! Loved those simple yet so attractive pieces, which were totally different from one another... Loved the different approaches on each card..... And the tag is something I would never dare to 'do away with', by gifting it to somebody else..... :D

ICRE3 - Priya V

Well! Looking forward to all the excitement I would be receiving in my mail..... :D

UNTIL NEXT, KEEP THE FAITH!!!!
