ICRC24 {CHRISTMAS/NEW YEAR + POP UP CARDS ONLY!}

Hello Peeps,

There we are at the dead end of 2012!

Hoping the New Year ahead unfolds many more additions to our happiness & blesses us with all the joys it has in its kitty.... :D

And ICR also throws in a FRESH & OUT OF THE COMFORT ZONE CHALLENGE to mould us into better & skilled paper crafters.... It is definitely a step further in this direction!

Follow the challenge pad to take the dare!

And following it, here is my inspiration for the same......

I have truly challenged myself in this direction as I was too very sceptical to take the plunge with this..... but finally I did try out something that I was happy & content with, at the end of it..... Hope you like it too..... :D

POP UP PIANO

Yes after all the nail biting thoughts of escaping this challenge, I finally decided to face it as there was no escape for me..... And dedicated a night's sleep to it..... :O

Yes! I finally managed to pop up a piano, upright....

Well that is not my original idea!

I did not wanna try Christmas Firstly, because that was kinda common.... Secondly, I did not have any one who I could send one too after me giving away a nights sleep to its formation.... Hence thought NEW YEAR was best so I could send it to mom on New Year!

I found the popped up Piano on the net in tumblr..... But unfortunately there was no deets to its being..... I had to spend time figuring out its creation which I did & quite liked what I could  cook up.... But of course there is a lot of scope on improvisation!

So I really hope it inspires you to pop up something for yourself & your family too..... :D

And of all the places I went for inspiration to help me begin from scratch, I liked the Moxie Fab World Keen On Neon challenge which dared you to use NEON COLORS!

So that was double dare for me... WAIT! There is one more to it......

Pop Up cards are accentuating by themselves.... But I wanted to dare myself again to be able to tone down the feel of a POP UP CARD.... to be able to contradict the very theme & its norms.....

Hence I dared to then top it up with CAS theme on the front which now confirms it as a TRIPLE DARE for me with this project !

So below is the CAS FRONT of the Pop Up Card....... which was inspired by the (CAS)E THIS SKETCH!

Okay you say that has been posted in an anti clockwise direction...... But I say I worked it in that direction & hence would stick to it... :p

And I took a lil inspiration from the Jay Gee's Nook inspiration board with the B/W stripes....

NewYearFront

When I decided I would play NEW YEAR on my project, the only song that came to my mind & quickly to the tongue were the words of THE MOST POPULAR NEW YEAR SONG by ABBA!

I had grown up listening to it, humming of course..... & dancing to the tunes every new year... And this year I wanted to grab the opportunity of being able to dedicate a project to it, made by my very own two hands..... And now I FEEL & BREATHE, CONTENT!

POPUPPIANO2

These are a few angled shots of my project on the inside..... And believe me for the first time in my life I have worked it backwards..... rather outwards!

Meaning, usually we create the card fronts & fill in the blanks inside..... But with this project I worked the inside first & when it was done completely, I thought of what I would do on the outside to it..... STRANGE! Is it not????

Well Sometimes strangest things happen for good.... :D

POPUPPIANO1

Photobucket

1) Stripped down my neon collection picked at Itsy Bitsy  & adhered it down in an arrangement, to cover the pop up on the inside....

2) The Piano keys are doodled with a marker.....

NewYearCAS

3) And since I wanted to keep it CAS, again doodled piano keys on a side & cooked up sentiment to coordinate the project.....

4) Punched the sentiment on a word document, printed & punched it out with SU! label punch..... "TAKE NOTES..... to the New Year Song!!!"

5) And since I love playing with words I had to work it all up so it indicates a PUN-FUN... :D

6) Some Jump Pins from office supplies, some post it notes, a brad from stash & a music note embellie picked from Itsy Bitsy, all completed this very dear project, for me......

That is all about MY VERY LONG STORY!!!

Hope you would also join us at ICR with ICRC24 & dare yourselves too, to a skill groom!

UNTIL NEXT, KEEP THE FAITH!!!

SCRAP INDIA FEST{2012} - ISICR11!!!

Hello Everyone!!!

OMG! I just realized I had not blogged my scrap LOs I made through out the year for the SCRAP INDIA FEST{2012}.... And even realized I had escaped few months in between & now since we are at the DEAD END, I ought to hurry with few pending LOs too..... Phew!!! Am gonna be a DEAD MEET by the Year End.....

Life has been so hectic off late..... My moving, my illness(that takes your time too), my orders, my family, my neighbors, my moods, my community, my this , my that..... EVERY BIT OF THESE have been keeping me tight with my schedules.....

Am literally YEARNING for a FREE MIND so I can simply RELAX & say to myself.... "Aah! I have got nothing to do..... " & look out for something afresh to keep me engaged..... WHEN WOULD THAT HAPPEN????? God you are listening????? Helloooooooooooooooo..................

I know YOU are & very soon I would have MY TIME.... After all I am YOUR FAVORITE!!!

Okay I guess that is enough for an outlet to my feelings right now.... lets get down to business again.....

So here is the ELEVENTH MONTH OF SCRAPPING at the SCRAP INDIA FEST{2012}!!!

Here is the challenge pad for the month of November along with my inspiration & LO for that month......

DARE : Geometric Shapes!

Those were the only set of photographs i have in hand.... The ones from my Vaishno Devi trip..... Hence this FIRST PERSONAL ALBUM of MINE is all dedicated to that trip..... :D

ISICR11 LO

And I thank CSI case File No. 44 for the lovely colors that adorn my LO.....

The Sketch from ICR & the Colors from CSI got my LO all pepped up..... :D

1) CS in Teal for the base is a RAK from B....

2) Sunny Yellow CS for the layer is from Fabriano....

3) Picture is from my Vaishno Devi Trip in the month of December, 2011.....

4) Bigger Sized doily at the BG picked up from a local market..... They are simply called as PAPER MATS here.... :p

5) Circle Swirls are the Round & Round Stamp from Inkadinkadoo.....

6) Since my main motive is to use my scraps for my scrap pages, you can see them around... The Triangles as per the DARE on ICR are scraps from a year pile.... Same goes with the orange bordered accent on the top.... Same with the stamped sentiment "I'm nuts about you", a scrap from a year long pile.... Swirl punched out accent is another scrap from around.... And the piece of burlap too.... The round in cream is the protective layering of an ICR price tag.....

7) Stenciled the negative of the fancy swirl die cut... Just brushed some ink through it & loved the impressions it made.... Subtle ones!

That is pretty much all for the November month of Scrapping.....

It is the DEAD END & I request all the participants to hurry up with their pending LOs for the Year 2012..... After all it would be satisfying to see a self made album for YOUR FAMILY.... :D

After all... Handcrafting albums on ORDER, for the WORLD is just not satiable.... We LOVE & LIVE it only when we have handcrafted them for OUR OWN SELVES..... MARK MY WORDS!!!

ICRC23 {PAPER QUILTING + DIWALI CREATION!}

Hello All!!!

Almost clinging on to the last few breaths the year 2012 is breathing..... And it makes me nervous to realize we are about to lose yet another year of LOVE, CARE, LOSS, DISTANCE & many many 'such strong EMOTIONS' that the year has BLESSED or LEFT us with.......

The Year means many such emotions to all of us & I have kinda started developing an abstract feel towards 2012, where it is personifying itself to me.... Main reason may be that I moved home from Bangalore to Ranchi.... FAR from my parents but NEAR to my in Laws.... OMG! It is true.... Tears glazed my eyes as I punched these words...... Aaah! I get it....

Okay! Good to go now......

So with November rolling in, we have another "OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE" task with ICRC23..... And all thanks to Bhavana Kesarkar who raked up this idea without which I would have NEVER EVER attempted this bizarre Paper Crafting Method!

Let's see if anyone else dittos me on that.....

So here goes the Challenge Deets for you..... :D

And here is my inspiration for the same.....

I would like to thank Fab Friday for the simple sketch which helped me work my thoughts on this creation......

Quilted DIwali

The Prep :

Choco Brown CS for the base from Fabriano.....

DP for the layer was a RAK from B.... Just rounded the corners on their opposite sides.....

DP in green was picked up from Landmark which I quite loved & finally found a nice way to use a lil of it..... :p

Traced the heart shape on 2 DPs & cut them out diagonally for diamond shapes..... Traced another heart on a CS for the base & glued the required pieces, all down on that base..... After which I ran my Jenome for the first time with the Zig Zag option which turned out quite neat.... And you know neatness makes me happy & proud......

Now that I did it once, DIL MAANGE MORE!!!

Added small rhinestones at all intersections to add the ZING THING to my project.....

Finally punched out the printed sentiment with SU! label punch.....

At the end something I felt amiss... hence doodled the dots for accented corners.....

That is it about my project..... :D

And I would also like to share that ICR is hosting the CELEBRATING CHILDHOOD EVENT 2012, for the kids of ICRians...... It has a lovely theme so very apt for the younger kids who get to proudly flaunt their innocent 'present career choice'..... So go ahead & get your kids to work on that as they celebrate their DAY on NOV 14th as CHILDRENS DAY!!!

There are many other events planned too..... Much to your liking's.... So do keep a watch @ ICR, & play on as to not let them pass.....

Happy Everything!!!

UNTIL NEXT, KEEP THE FAITH!!!

ICRC20 {EMBOSSING + FRIENDLY FUN WITH FONTS}

Hello Patrons & Crafters,

On time with my ICRC20 inspiration.... :D

Yes, I know it is August & a month of many such celebrations which means a lot to us as Indians & as individuals.... But there is one celebration which means a lot to us as just homo sapiens.... A celebration of social bonding.... which is celebrated as FRIENDSHIP DAY & yes it is again just around the corner......

With that in mind we came up with a real fun challenge this month on ICR.....

Below is the challenge pad to it....

And the Challenge is EMBOSSING(Dry/Wet/Ready made) but EMBOSSING must be CLEARLY visible on the creation.... TWIST being adding a sentiment to the creation which has at least 3 different fonts & something associated with Friendship!

And the TWIST was a lil hard for the team to break on..... After all ICR dares are meant to be DIFFERENT & A CUT ABOVE THE REST.... Since the whole idea is to give an opportunity of GROWTH to the passionate paper crafter of India....

So wanna raise the bar as a creative crafter, dare yourself with ICRC20!

Here is my inspiration for you in this direction..... :D

ICRC20

The Prep :

CS a RAK from B....
White CS from Fabriano for the layer....
Burlap in green from Landmark.....
Vellum from Itsy Bitsy....
Dry embossed the vellum using an Itsy Bitsy Embossing Folder*.....
And ran few colors of bic markers on the embossed images, restricting it to a little.....
The sentiment is a Fiskar Birthday sentiment stamp which has been inked with memento bamboo leaves....
The flower is again a stamp from Itsy Bitsy which was stamped & then hand cut to be added as an embellishment on this creation.....
Adhered a clear button from Stampin' UP! with a baker twine in pink tied into a bow....
And to the sentiment added a few halved pearls from Itsy Bitsy.....

ICRC20

I loved the way it turned out.... Simple yet cute.... :D

* Itsy Bitsy Embossing Folder -

Firstly thanks for these adorable embossing folders that Itsy Bitsy is catering us Indian Crafters with.....

This was the first time I was using it & was quite amazed by the crispness of the images.... And to add to it, the very first time I was working on a vellum too trying to emboss on it.... And was impressed the with the beautiful impressions on it.... NEAT & CRISP!!!

Thanks again.... :D

Very soon would be reviewing few designs in the ITSY BITSY GROUP on ICR.... And in case of any doubts & clarifications, please do not hesitate to write to me..... :D

After all, we can ONLY achieve what we want for our Indian Crafters by walking ahead with the strength of unity.... And we for sure want to give only our best for our FUTURE PAPER CRAFTERS too.....

Well that is pretty much about my creation for ICRC20..... But yes do not forget to tune into our ICR FB page for a taste of all passionate creations & inspirations from our Paper Crafters.....

Looking forward to see how you nail the ICRC20 dare!!!

ICRC19 {FANCY FOLDS + ANYTHING BUT EASEL FOLD}!!!

Hello Everyone, {*** A Lil Picture Heavy Post***}

I did not wanna be late with my inspiration this time as compared to the last for ICRC18.... :p

And moreover this time we have the most complicated of all challenges, the FANCY FOLDS.... Phew!

May be that is an easy task to most who are well versed with these folds & indulge in them on every alternative project they do, but for me believe me it was not that easy at all..... I made one for the challenge & did not quite like it.... Hence attempted another, which finally made as an inspiration for ICRC19!

But when photographed, even the previous did look good though.... But since it did not satisfy me in real, I did not wanna post that as an inspiration.... But would surely share it with you peeps, here on my blog space.... :D

To go ahead with ICRC19, here is the challenge pad for you....

And now for the inspiration towards it....
ICRC19

That is a horizontal GATE FOLD CREATION..... The Card Front!

Gate Fold

The Prep:

Chocolate CS from fabriano fro the base.....
Adhered an embossed CS from Itsy Bitsy on to the one side of the card front & on the other adhered a DP from Deja Views Wedding Collection....

The inner frames were die cuts out of the Scalloped oval die from Nestabilities.....
Used the Vintage Die cuts from Provo Craft for the corners.....
Distressed the frames by sponging some wall nut stain distress ink around....
Added a dash of halved pearls from Itsy Bitsy on the center of the die cut rose blossom & around too...
Adhered some silver pearls from stash.....

You ought to give ICRC19 a serious try moving out of your comfort zone, for once if you are basically a two fold card maker like me..... :P

And for the card makers whose forte is FANCY FOLD, then this is your cup of tea..... Brew it along with ICRC19!!!
